Job Description:

The Delivery Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of one or more projects and/or services. Successful means that the projects and services are delivered in accordance with the contract, within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer and our employees.

Depending on the knowledge, talent and experience, the delivery manager focuses on Project Management and/or Service Management, where the primary goal is to deliver, optimize and innovate technically high-quality solutions and services.

General responsibilities

  • Contract management
    • Delivering projects and services in accordance with the contractual scope and condition including the recording of changes (scope, time, etc.).
    • Drafting purchase contracts and managing compliance.
    • Drafting contractual preconditions for quotations and purchase/sales contracts.
  • Stakeholder management:
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
    • Ensuring transparent communication about progress, performance and improvements.
  • Team coordination and leadership:
    • Motivating, coaching and leading multidisciplinary teams.
    • Collaborate with other teams to achieve project and service goals.
  • Budget and quality:
    • Managing budgets and costs without compromising on quality.
    • Monitoring compliance with quality standards and processes.
    • Preparation of budgets for quotations and change requests.
  • Reports and advice:
    • Reporting on performance to senior management.
    • Advising on improvements in projects, services and processes.

The Delivery Manager performs the following activities for 1 or more contracts:

1. Project management

The Delivery Manager is responsible for delivering projects in accordance with the underlying contracts:

  • Tasks:
    • Drawing up and manage project schedules, budgets and risks for both quotations and contracted projects.
    • Leading projects from initiation to delivery, methodology tailored to type of project (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall and Kanban).
    • Coordinating resources and ensuring a balanced division of tasks.
    • Optimizing project processes and implementing improvements.
    • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Requirements:
    • Experience in project management within ICT (from 2 years).
    • Certifications/experience with Agile Scrum, PRINCE2 and/or PMP.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

2. Service management

The Delivery Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing our services.

  • Tasks:
    • Monitoring and improving IT services and SLA compliance.
    • Coordinate incident management and act as an escalation point for critical issues.
    • Analyze service performance and implement process improvements (e.g., ITIL best practices).
    • Maintaining customer relationships and advising on service optimizations.
    • Manage service budgets and optimize costs without compromising service quality.
  • Requirements:
    • Experience in service management within IT (from 2 years).
    • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation (preferably Advanced).
    • Strong customer-centric and problem-solving skills.

Requirements for the position

  • Academic/Polytechnic education level information technology, electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Specific certifications depending on the focus (Project Management or Service Management).
  • Commercially savvy and experience with/knowledge of contracts and contract management

Overview per level and focus area

The levels (1,2,3) are applicable to both roles. Employees can grow within their focus area or develop into an all-round Delivery Manager who combines both roles.

1.Assist with planning in projects up to 1M€, documentation, and monitoring.Support with incident management, SLA monitoring and reporting.
2.Independently leading projects (~1M€), managing risks, managing customers.Proactive incident management, improving service processes. Managing customers. Assignments up to ~1M€/year.
3.Strategic management of large projects (>10M€), implementing innovations.Final responsibility for services, strategic SLA improvements. Assignments >5M€
